It looks like Kevin McHale's efforts to thin the roster via trade have been thwarted. Timberwolves.com is reporting that Juwan Howard will be bought out shortly. If the teams website says it, it's not likely just a rumor.

I know Howard said he doesn't want to be here (although he's been a complete professional about it and even a good veteran leader) and Antoine Walker has said all the right things about youth, playing time and leadership. But something doesn't sit right with me when we're buying out someone with a track record of positive leadership over someone with track record of sulking and chucking.

The only thing that would make total sense is if Howard accepted a significantly lower buyout than Walker would've required.
